The chamber choir "Amadeus" was founded in 1970.
The choir repeatedly had been invited in foreign countries such as Norway, Finland, the Netherlands, Lithuania, Estonia and performed its programme in various Russian cities. The closest creative relations were established with the Norwegian musicians.The first international experience "Amadeus" got in 1990 when the choir was invited to Vadso. The musical called "Chess", written by Benny Anderson was performed with the participation of Kari Bremnes.In two years one more project had been fulfilled - oratorium "Messiah" by Hendel.
Jointly with the Norwegian National Opera soloist and Murmansk philharmonic orchestra the choir participated in the direction of the opera called " La Traviata" and "Un ballo in maschera" by Verdi, "Madama Butterfly" and "La Bohème" by Puccini. Since 1999 "Amadeus" is an annual participant of the Varangerfestival. In russian and foreign printed media there is a lot of positive feedback referring the "Amadeus" performances. Classical and modern choral compositions, jazz and orchestra music are mainly performed by "Amadeus". The founder and the permanent leader of the choir is Valeriy Ivanov.
